Kutná Hora: The City of Silver

Travel back to the fourteenth century, to the moment silver was found near a monastery and a small spot grew into one of the most important cities in Central Europe. In Kutná Hora: The City of Silver you are a guild leader with big plans. Together with the others you help the city grow, from the first silver find to the building of the beautiful St. Barbara's Cathedral. This is a historical city-building game in which supply and demand really come alive. Every choice you make affects the economy on the board. You pick your actions from a handful of double-sided cards and get to work: digging mines, buying land, getting permits, putting up buildings for your guild and making a profit from your production. Prices move along with what players do, so you keep a close eye on each other. Because everyone's guilds work differently, every round feels lively and surprising. You mine ore, smelt it into silver and keep expanding the city. Just watch the balance: reaching your own goals is great, but the city has to keep flourishing too. Everything is connected, and sometimes your road to victory runs straight through everyone's prosperity. Expect about two hours full of choices, conversations and building together.
