Venice, full of secrets and hidden allies. In Inkognito you step into the shoes of a secret agent with a mission that you do not even know yourself at the start. Somewhere among the players sits your partner, the person who holds the other half of your secret assignment. You just do not know who it is yet. Together you have to find each other and get the job done, without your opponents figuring out what you are up to. Each agent is represented by figures with their own build: tall, short, fat or thin. But watch out, only one figure is really the agent, the rest are there to put others on the wrong track. On your turn you shake the Phantom of Prophecy to see which actions you may take. You move your figures over land and sea, looking for meetings. If you land on the same space as another player, you may ask questions and sneak a look at their cards. Step by step you piece together the identity and the intentions of your fellow players. There is also an important figure walking around: the Ambassador. He knows an enormous amount and everyone wants to talk to him. But be careful, he can just as easily help your rivals along. In the Ares Games version someone can even play the Ambassador with a goal of their own: to learn as much as possible about everyone else. That way three to five players get an evening full of double dealing, deduction and surprising revelations.
