In HANIWA you dive into an ancient Japan full of celebration and tradition. During a great festival, two sculptors compete for the title of most talented maker. You are one of those sculptors and you offer your most beautiful haniwa to one of the four clan chiefs. Who makes the biggest impression? The game is all about cleverly placing tiles on your own part of the field. In the columns you want to score as many points as possible, because that makes you the favourite of the clan chiefs. At the same time you try to land on exactly eight points in the rows. If you manage that, you get a bonus thanks to the dogu, the odd-looking statues that resemble aliens. Every move takes some thought, which makes it as much a puzzle as a game. HANIWA is suitable for one to four players and offers several ways to play. There is even a mode for when you are at the table on your own. In twenty minutes you can play a lovely game, together or by yourself. Everyone from age six and up can join in.
