Behind every newspaper, every election and every big decision there is someone pulling the strings. In Gray Eminence you step into the shoes of such a figure in the background. You are never in the spotlight yourself, but your influence is everywhere. With money, power and the right contacts you steer different groups exactly the way that suits you best. Every player works towards shared goals, but everyone also has a secret plan of their own. That makes this game tense and surprising. You bluff, you negotiate and sometimes you wonder whether you are still doing the right thing. Gray Eminence is about intrigue, politics and morals that are not always pure. The designers promise up front not to be polite or correct, but they do want you to talk at the table about the world we live in. At the end, the winner is the one who came closest to their own victory. For three to five players, ages fifteen and up, and done in about an hour and a half. A game that lingers, long after the last move has been made.
