Grab your pickaxe and your pan, explore the area and buy into the richest mines. Whoever collects the most gold wins. Gold Country is a strategy game about the California gold rush, designed by Reiner Knizia and beautifully illustrated by Beth Sobel. The design builds on a Knizia classic, but has been completely reworked. There are new cards, fresh maps and surprising actions. It all revolves around the shares of your mining companies and playing the market. Each turn you grow your mining companies, buy and sell shares and play powerful action cards. Together you push the values up, but you keep a sharp eye on the moment to change course. The rules are easy to learn and the choices stay exciting. As soon as all the gold veins have been found, the game ends and the richest player wins.
