Back to the 1980s. The time of big hairdos, cassette tapes and BMX bikes racing through the streets. In Garage Rock you step into the shoes of a teenage band fighting for fame in the exciting Battle of the Bands. The contest is hosted by Johnny Law, the notorious local pirate DJ who broadcasts from his secret treehouse. To climb higher, you gather fans, improve your skills and put up flyers all over town. You place your band members in different spots on the board. That way you pick up skills at the shops, earn money with gigs and upgrade your instrument at the music store. Or you step into the clothing shop for a fresh new look. Put some coins in the copy machine, print your flyers and spread the word about your band. And above all, do not forget to record your demo, because once it plays on pirate radio your popularity grows. The game runs over sixteen weeks of the summer and ends with the big finale: the Battle of the Bands. The band with the most fans wins. Garage Rock combines building up your band with planning and collecting, wrapped in a story full of music and nostalgia. Time to make the garage shake and take over the neighbourhood!
