Flowers

In Flowers you get to work on your own flower bed. You collect flowers in red, yellow, white and blue and try to be the first to gather six of the same colour. Sounds peaceful? Not quite. There are goats wandering about, lawnmowers standing ready, and a tornado can come racing past at any moment. And then there are your fellow players, who would love nothing more than to come and eat your lovely flowers. Each turn you choose one thing: draw a card from the deck, or play a card from your own supply. With a goat or a lawnmower you can snatch away someone else's flowers. With coins you can buy a flower from the market instead. Draw a tornado? Then something happens right away. That keeps things exciting, and you never know for sure whether your flower bed will stay standing. The rules are quick to learn and a game takes about twenty minutes. That makes Flowers a lovely game for in between, for children from six years old and for two to four players. A light dose of chaos, plenty of laughs and more than enough reason for a rematch.
