The mat is made of natural rubber and has double-stitched edges, so it can take a knock and will last for years. Handily, the mat is double-sided. One side has clear spaces for the hexes, the cards and the base camp, so everything is in its place straight away. The other side shows only the atmospheric artwork, for those who prefer a cleaner look. Measuring 900 by 900 millimetres, it has plenty of room for a full five-player game. Everything is laid out neatly and clearly in front of you, so you and your fellow players can throw yourselves completely into the journey ahead.
