El Alamein

Picture this: the North African desert, somewhere during the Second World War. In El Alamein you step into the shoes of the armies storming across Africa, heading for Alexandria. Each round you build your own pile of cards and try to stay one step ahead of the others. Whoever makes the best choices gains the upper hand. This game is the follow-up to the deck-building game Barba Rossa, but you don't need that first game to get started. El Alamein stands perfectly well on its own. Want to combine everything? You can, because the cards from both games fit together. That way you build an ever larger collection of your own. With two to five players and a game of about an hour, this is a great choice for an evening at the table. You play just long enough to really dive into the battle, but you won't be sitting there forever. Plenty of time to laugh together, to sigh, and then to play it all over again.
