Downstream

In Downstream you build a river together, card by card. As the water finds its way, a small landscape grows on the table. And that is exactly where it gets exciting: which banks will you make richer, and which will you leave behind? Each turn you choose how to place a card. Do you extend the stream and add value to one of the banks? Or do you slide a card alongside to enlarge an existing bank, knowing that you then have no influence on the course of the water? That little dilemma holds all the charm of this game. Every choice counts, and you are both puzzling to come out ahead. Because the goals differ from game to game, every river looks different. One time it flows calmly, another time it is full of surprising bends. Within twenty minutes you have created a complete landscape and you know who claimed the finest bank. Perfect for a quiet moment for two.
