About sixty million years ago, a long ice age comes to an end. The earth warms up, the oceans change and a silent struggle begins beneath the surface. Who adapts best? In Dominant Species: Marine you take on the role of a large group of sea animals: reptiles, fish, cephalopods or crustaceans. At the start everyone is roughly equal, but that does not last long. Only the strongest species survives. You spread your animals across as many different habitats as possible and try to make your species grow. With actions such as speciation, migration and adaptation you build up your chances of survival, while making life hard for your opponents. Cards give you one-time powers, lasting benefits or extra points. And watch out: a giant asteroid is on its way, so you have no time to lose. Whoever has the most points at the end may call themselves the dominant species. Have you played the original Dominant Species? Then you will notice a few fresh changes right away. You now carry out actions immediately when you place a pawn, which makes the game flow better and gives your head a bit of rest. Dominance applies across the whole earth instead of per tile. And with special pawns that you earn along the way, you get even more ways to carry out your plan. A tough adventure for players who like depth and enjoy really digging in.
