In CATz in the Town! some kittens have gone missing, and it is up to you to bring them back safely before they get into trouble. Luckily, cats have nine lives, so there is still hope! Around the table everyone goes looking for stray kittens in four colours: blue, yellow, red and green. Whoever collects the most kitty coins rescues the most cats and wins the game. It is all about building runs of cards. You may only build one run per colour at a time, so you keep puzzling with what lies in front of you. A run has three, five or sometimes seven cards, and the trick is in the adding up: the last digit of your total must always be a 9. The cards only show odd numbers, and some show two, so you can choose which value to use. Extra cards make things exciting, because they can help your hunt or throw it into a bit of chaos. Have you completed a run? Then you flip the cards over and earn kitty coins, each worth one point. With three to five players and games of about three quarters of an hour, this is a lovely game for the kitchen table, and everyone from about age eight can join in right away.
