Castles of Mad King Ludwig

In this tile-laying game for 1-4 players you build a magnificent castle for King Ludwig II of Bavaria, room by room. He loves huge, fairytale castles (think of Neuschwanstein, which even inspired Disney!). But watch out, the king often changes his mind, so you need to plan cleverly to meet all his demands.

About the game

• Everyone starts with a modest foyer.
• One player is the Master Builder and sets the prices of the available rooms.
• The other players buy rooms from the Master Builder and add them to their own castle.
• The Master Builder may choose from the leftover rooms, but does collect the money from the others!

Every new room scores points, depending on its size, its type and where you place it. If you complete a room (all doorways connect to other rooms), you get a special reward. After that the Master Builder role passes to the next player and the buying round starts again.

After a few rounds the game ends. Then you score extra points for bonus goals, popular rooms and the royal demands, which are different every game. Whoever has the most castle points may call themselves the ultimate castle builder!
