Publisher: Ravensburger
This is the Dutch-language edition. Castles of Burgundy is a legendary board game by Stefan Feld, in which 1-4 players take on the role of aristocrats with a small principality. You build powerful castles, trade along the river, open silver mines and make clever use of travellers to expand your realm.
Now this timeless game returns in a specially produced edition, created through a collaboration between Ravensburger and Awaken Realms. The design and layout have been completely renewed, so all the components look beautiful and are easy to use. On top of that, only the best materials are used: thicker cardboard, larger tiles (about 30% bigger), metal coins and even special bags for the tiles. You also get double-layered player boards, which give a luxurious feel and extra sturdiness.
The game is set in the Burgundy region during the High Middle Ages. As an aristocrat you rule a small area that you expand step by step with buildings and castles. You buy and place tiles in your own duchy, where they score points depending on their type and location. Meanwhile you also try to make use of the silver mines, open trade routes and receive help from travellers.
With clever moves and good planning you expand your principality, so that you end up scoring the most points and leaving the other players behind. Ready to conquer your own piece of Burgundy in this deluxe version of Castles of Burgundy? Set course for a medieval adventure full of tactics and splendour!
