Blackwood

Quite a few witches live in the little village of Blackwood. That is thanks to the mysterious forest right behind the houses, packed with magical ingredients. But this morning something special is going on. For the first time in decades, the Wizards' Council of Blackwood is looking for a new member. That honour will go to the most respected witch in the region. Could that be you? To win over the council you do what you do best: brewing potions. Make exactly the potions the council members love and you will catch their eye. Luckily you are not on your own. Your wooden figures, the Marionettes, help you in the forest, and at the village wizard you trade potions for spells. But keep a close watch on your so-called witch friends, because they will snatch away the ingredients you need most without batting an eye. A game of Blackwood is played over three expeditions, each split into five rounds. You send your Marionettes into the forest, return to the village and get to work on your potions. Along the way you brew, trade, cast spells or sell a potion for some extra money. Always a new choice, and always a bit of tension about who will win at the table.
