Barakka

Colourful Moroccan cards, a table for two and a good dose of memory: that is Barakka. In this game you try to collect nice sets of cards, while getting in your opponent's way a little. Because the sweetest win is one where you snatch away exactly the card the other player was waiting for. On your turn you take a card, either from the discard piles or from the draw pile. If you want to keep it, you place it on a pile of the same colour. But watch out: on each pile you only see the top card. What lies underneath, you have to remember. Your goal is to complete the numbers 1 through 5 in each colour. A joker may replace any number and even earns you extra points. Fill a pile and you take the coloured token, which means that colour is finished for you. When the draw pile runs out, you lay out your cards in the right order and count the points. A row without the 1 does not count, so paying attention pays off. Barakka plays in twenty minutes and is full of choices that keep you sharp. The box contains several variants with extra cards and tokens, so there is always something new to discover.
