Águeda: City of Umbrellas

Every summer the Portuguese town of Águeda turns into one big art festival. Hundreds of colourful umbrellas hang above the streets, the lamp posts are decorated and murals and artworks are everywhere. In Águeda: City of Umbrellas you step into the shoes of a festival artist. Your task? Hang the most beautiful umbrellas and draw as many tourists as possible to your street. You pick tiles from the central board and place them in a row on your own street board. Then you move one or two tourists through your umbrellas to make that row score points. Place your umbrellas cleverly and you open up new parts of your tourist map, bringing in even more tourists. Along the way you keep an eye on the wishes of the town, the shops and the visitors. Once your board is full, you count points based on your umbrella arrangement and the shared 'shop' cards, each with its own goal. This game is for 1 to 5 players and takes about 40 minutes. It is based on the real Umbrella Project in Águeda. 25th Century Games worked together with the Umbrella Sky Project for the illustrations on the box, the tourist cards in the game and advice about the culture. An atmospheric game to enjoy together at the table, whether you are playing as a pair or with a full table.
