It is 1998. Four hundred kilometres above the earth, the American module Unity docks with the Russian module Zarya. That moment is the start of the international space station we know today. In 1998 ISS you step into the shoes of a space team and build this impressive adventure above the clouds piece by piece. You play the game in rounds, and each round you choose between actions on earth and actions in the station itself. On earth you train astronauts, load materials, prepare new modules and plan experiments. Up in the ISS things get really exciting: you take material outside, carry out experiments, let your astronauts stay longer to research gravity, and install new modules. Everything you set up on earth pays off during your work in space. Most of your points come from the experiments you complete. As soon as five American or five Russian rockets have been launched, the game ends and the player with the most points wins. You play with one to four space travellers, and a game takes about an hour and a half. A game for enthusiasts who love planning and immersion.
